Intensive in-patient therapy (Conservative treatment)
A unique technique of intensive care with the use of retrobulbar catheterization is carried out for the following diseases:
– Compensated glaucoma
– Dystrophic diseases of the retina of the optic nerve
– Partial optic nerve atrophy
– Vascular diseases of the retina
– Abiotrophies
Today dystrophic diseases of the retina, partial atrophy of the optic nerve, vascular diseases of the retina, abiotrophy, glaucoma are one of the most difficult problems in ophthalmology, leading to blindness and low vision.
The main standard in the treatment of such diseases is the use of drugs to improve the blood supply to the optic nerve and retina, vitamins, and physiotherapy.
Traditional therapeutic treatment of these pathologies is usually ineffective since they are accompanied by insignificant penetration of drugs into the eye.
In such cases, the DMC clinic carries out a unique technique of intensive care “retrobulbar catheterization”.
The main goal of this technique is the timely elimination of edema and inflammation, improving the trophism of the optic nerve and its blood circulation, restoring the conduction of nerve fibers, and preserving the existing visual acuity. With this technique, the effectiveness of treatment is increased up to 70%.
DMC clinic is the only one in the Republic where this technique is performed.
