Several medications are usually prescribed in the treatment of pneumonia:

In some cases, when there are purulent complications in pneumonia, treatment is done surgically.

 Prevention of pneumonia

The most reliable way to prevent pneumonia in adults is vaccination. Get the flu vaccine on time. Because pneumonia is often a complication of the flu.

The rest of the preventive measures will be transferred to hygiene and a healthy lifestyle:

  • Exercise, strengthen immunity;
  • Thicker clothing in the cold season;
  • Frequent ventilation of rooms, wet cleaning;
  • Timely treatment of colds and flu;
  • Avoid bad habits – Smoking can also trigger pneumonia, and alcohol can lower immunity.
